Longtime Mariners' broadcaster Dave Niehaus is going into the Baseball Hall of Fame, as reported by the Associated Press on Tuesday. Niehaus has been chosen as the 2008 winner of the Ford C. Frick Award for broadcast excellence. He will be honored during the Hall of Fame induction ceremony July 27 at Cooperstown, N.Y. The announcement Tuesday comes on Niehaus? 73rd birthday.

Miguel Tejada hit two home runs in Caribbean Series play on Saturday to become the all-time home run leader in the Series. Tejada has 13 home runs in 11 Caribbean Series, beating out the 11 home runs hit by Antonio Armas of Venezuela.
